Option 1: Inside the app (fastest)
This takes less than a minute:
- Open the Kashef app and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Privacy.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm by entering your password.
You will be signed out on every device immediately. Your account then enters a 14-day grace period — you can keep it anytime before that ends from the privacy screen in the app, or by clicking the cancel link in the confirmation email.
Option 2: Request deletion without the app
If you can no longer access the app or your registered email, request deletion directly:
We process deletion requests within 7 business days of identity verification.
What gets deleted
- Your name, email, phone number, and address.
- Any GPS coordinates you shared during device setup.
- All consumption readings linked to your account.
- Alert history and notification preferences.
- Authentication tokens and active app sessions.
What we may keep
- Anonymous, aggregated statistics (e.g. total consumption across a city) that cannot be linked back to you.
- Records that Syrian law requires us to retain (e.g. tax invoices, if any).
- An admin audit trail that does not contain your personal data, but keeps the account ID so the deletion itself can be proven.
- Technical backups, which are automatically purged within 30 days.
Timeline
- Immediately — signed out on every device, notifications stopped.
- Within 14 days — grace period; you can cancel from inside the app.
- After 14 days — your personal information (name, email, phone, address, password) is permanently anonymised and your devices are unlinked.
- Within 30 days — removed from backup snapshots.
Note: Deleting your account does not void the physical device’s warranty. If you want to return the device or request a warranty replacement, let us know before deletion so we can keep the relevant record.

Can I undo a deletion?
Yes — you have 14 days. Sign back into the Kashef app and tap Keep my account on the deletion banner on the privacy screen, or open the cancel link in the confirmation email. After the 14 days elapse, your data is anonymised and cannot be restored.
What about the Kashef device itself?
The device remains yours. After deletion it becomes unpaired and can be linked to a new account whenever you want.
Do I need to install the app to request deletion?
No. The email or WhatsApp message above is enough.
